In recent years, the rapid growth of online shopping has placed increasing demands on logistics and distribution systems. This study explores the timeliness and accuracy of logistics services provided by reselling platforms and traditional e-commerce platforms, offering insights into their operational efficiencies.
Reselling platforms, which act as intermediaries between buyers and international sellers, and traditional e-commerce platforms, which directly sell products to consumers, have become integral to modern retail. However, the efficiency of their logistics systems remains a critical factor in customer satisfaction.
This study analyzed data from 1,000 transactions across five major reselling platforms and five leading e-commerce platforms. Metrics such as delivery time, package tracking accuracy, and customer feedback on delivery experiences were evaluated.
Reselling platforms exhibited an average delivery time of 7-14 days, largely due to the involvement of international shipping and customs clearance. In contrast, e-commerce platforms averaged 2-5 days, as they often relied on local warehouses and established logistics networks.
Both platforms demonstrated high accuracy in package tracking, with 95% of e-commerce packages and 90% of reselling packages delivered to the correct address. However, reselling platforms had a slightly higher rate of delays and errors due to the complexity of cross-border logistics.
While e-commerce platforms consistently provided faster and more reliable delivery services, reselling platforms have made significant strides in improving accuracy despite the inherent challenges of international shipping. Both platforms must continue to innovate in logistics to meet rising consumer expectations.
